Description
Emily walked confidently into the Indoor Ring at Carpendaler stables. She was very excited when the owner of Black Water Stables had given her the job to choose the next stallion for the stable. Emily had spent many hours looking online for horses for sale, and when she saw the Carpendaler and read about the auction, she had to go.
She sat down next to an elderly couple. Emily saw some beautiful horses, including a palomino appaloosa and a couple of pintos. A paint mare caught her eye, but her temperament wasn't ideal. But when a pangare appaloosa stallion was led into the ring, she was immediately interested. He was gorgeous!
The stallion walked into the ring. He did so slightly confident, as if he was planning a lot for this day, but when he saw the other horses at the other side, he stopped and eyed them dis-trustingly. He planted his feet and pawed the ground nervously. His confidence flew down the drain, and he nervously took a shaky step forward, wobbling like a newborn foal.
The other people at the auction shook their heads and turned to wait for the next horse. When the auctioneer called out the stallion's number, no one raised the hands. He sighed and was about to tell them to lead him back to the barn, when Emily's small hand raised in the air. The auctioneer grinned, and 5 seconds later, the stallion was hers.
